Occasionally a picture I’ve posted gains traction and I subsequently get a bunch of reblog notifications in a row. Sometimes I’ll click the links to the blogs of those who’ve reblogged me because perhaps I’ll enjoy what they have to offer. More times than not I click over to a blog who, per my dashboard notification, reblogged me like 3 minutes ago, tops. Sometimes I’ll go through 5 pages of their blog before I find where they reblogged me…3 minutes prior.

Is this what Tumblr has become? Endless amounts of people focusing on nothing but mindless, constant, and almost absurd content aggregation? Does no one post original content anymore? Is this what Tumblr has always been and I’ve never noticed because I choose to follow a small group of people who post mostly original, fascinating content?

I promise you all that they day I post 5 pages of other people’s content in 3 minutes time, I will immediately and unwaveringly quit the internet.
