deadpresidents asked: I just started reading a book that a publisher sent me to review and it's really interesting, so I wanted to see if you've heard of it. It's called "The Map of My Dead Pilots: The Dangerous Game of Flying In Alaska" by Colleen Mondor (Lyons Press, 2012). I'm not sure if it's been released yet, but it was written by a woman who worked as a dispatcher in a flight operations center in Fairbanks, Alaksa for Alaskan charter and commuter airlines. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.
File this under “type of ask box messages I wish I got more often.” I haven’t heard of it, but it absolutely sounds right up my alley. I’d love to be a bush pilot but I also like civilization and cell phone service, however it’s most definitely the kind of thing I would enjoy vicariously experiencing. I have a few books in my queue that I got for Christmas and have been unable to get through as my current work situation leaves me with no time to read anything unrelated to the CRJ200. Let me know what you think of it and/or if you hear anything regarding it’s release date because I’d love to pick up a copy.
